May 7 - 10, 2009, Pioneers of Sport Parachuting Reunion. A group dedicated to re-visiting and re-kindling spirit/bond that exists among the early Pioneers of the Sport. Whether you are an original pioneer (1950s) or a new pioneer (1980s or later) you have helped to create the unbelievable things skydivers are doing in the sky and under parachutes today. June 15 - 22, 2009 SkyFEST Boogie, known as the "pay it forward boogie." www.skyfestboogie.com Gene Paul Thacker's 77th Birthday, his 40th skydiving birthday, Raeford's 40th Anniversary, the Bachmans ParaGear pre 50th Anniversary (49th), Sherry Schrimsher's 45th with USPA, and J Schrimsher's 25th skydiving birthday and USPA membership! SkyFest is the original and only event that has donated over $24,000.00 to skydivers nationwide!
September 21 - 17, 2009 POPS (Parachutists Over Phorty Society) Nationals. Parachutists Over Phorty Society (POPS) originated in the USA in 1966 and has since spread its wings to include Skydivers Over Sixty (SOS), Jumpers Over Seventy (JOS), and Jumpers Over Eighty Society (JOES).
