TANDEM SKYDIVING
This introduction to Skydiving has been has been used for many years providing first-time skydivers personalized instruction in freefall and canopy control after less than an hour of ground instruction. This is the jump preferred by those individuals wanting to do a skydive just for fun.
A tandem jump utilizes a dual harness parachute. Safely attached to your tandem master, you exit the aircraft 13,000 feet above Raeford Parachute Center and FREEFALL together for approximately 60 seconds. At 5,500 feet, you will deploy your parachute and enjoy an extended canopy flight descending slowly, making gentle turns through the sky for approximately 4 minutes allowing you to enjoy the view. Both the student and the instructor are attached to the skydiving gear and descend under a single, large parachute.
Our landing area is located immediately in front of the Manifest allowing your friends and family to witness you receiving your final instruction at the loading area, climbing aboard the aircraft, our aircraft and landing in front of the Manifest building. If you want a photo or video of yourself in freefall, we have freefall photographers that can do that! From gearing up to landing, a video is a must!
Training and the jump itself requires approximately 2 hours. However, scheduled times are only approximate. Therefore, tandem students should allow at least three hours after their scheduled jump times for completion of the jump. For a full Tandem Itinerary, click here.
A Tandem Skydive includes instruction, complete equipment (parachute, harness, jumpsuit, helmet, goggles and altimeter), your tandem master, aircraft slots and the actual skydive! - all for $194.
To include a freefall video-photographer to capture your special moment, add $92. We'll take a video of you getting ready for your big jump, a bit while riding up in the airplane, the actual skydive and capture your landing on film. The entire experience is then dubbed to music on a DVD. A great way to share your experience with friends and family. If you would like an additional copy, just let us know and we can take care of that as well.
Due to equipment limitations, tandem students must weigh no more than 230 pounds. You must be 16 years or older, and be in good physical health to skydive. Physically challenged people may skydive. Persons taking prescription drugs or having a recent injury or illness that would require a doctor's evaluation, must have a doctor's certificate stating that no adverse effects would result from vigorous activity or making a skydive. Minors must have a notarized waiver before the day of your jump. Please contact us at 910-904-0000 for details.
AFF (USPA Integrated Student Program):

Accelerated Free Fall Program (AFF) requires approximately 6 hours of ground instruction and wind tunnel training before you are ready for your first skydive. You wear your own harness and parachute. After climbing to 13,000 feet, you depart the aircraft with 2 AFF Instructors to assist you in freefall where you will fall for approximately 60 seconds. You will deploy your own parachute and descend to the landing area with the assistance of ground to air radio instruction. In total, the AFF training program progresses through the Integrated Student Program developed by the USPA before the student is cleared for solo freefall. Each Category includes at least one skydive and the student is required to demonstrate specific learning objectives before being cleared to the next category. Learn more about the USPA Integrated Student Program used at RPC on the United States Parachute Association Web Site. Or download the 2008 Skydiver Information Manual from USPA in PDF format here. Section 4 is the Integrated Student Program.
